studies in travel writing

Publications

A growing bibliography of recent and forthcoming publications in the field of travel writing and its study.

At present it is largely concerned with material published (or re-published) since 1997, and covers the following areas:

(1) A limited selection of primary sources, including:

• new, original works of travel writing
• new anthologies of travel writings
• reissues, translations and critical editions of classic or forgotten texts

(2) secondary literature, currently divided into

• journals specifically concerned with travel writing
• special issues on travel writing of other journals
• general works on travel writing
• works devoted to a single traveller or author
• works concerned with travel to or travel writing about a particular region
• works concerned with travel from - or travel writing by authors from - a particular region
• bibliographies
• other works of related interest.
